Coinbase

Software Engineer

October 2025 — Present

I’m currently at Coinbase in the Blockchain Data Platform team providing information on pricing, market data, and asset metadata for all assets on the Coinbase platform.

Overview

My work in Coinbase revolves around two key function areas: Pricing and Asset Data. In short, I fill out the data on the main page so that user’s know what they’re buying, how it’s performed, and how much it costs right now.

Pricing

My work in pricing involves collecting large amounts of real-time data from various proivders and internal sources. This data must be processed and made available to users in incredible short time service level agreements (SLAs). In addition, my work also handles creating historical data for all assets on the platform, which is used for charting and other features. The bulk of this work revolves around ensuring data accuracy and validating across multiple sources for robustness.

Asset Data

Coinbase has a wide variety of assets on-platform: cryptocurrencies, stocks, prediction markets, derivatives, and more being added all the time. My work in asset data involves collecting and maintaining metadata for all of these assets, such as descriptions, contract addresses, and other relevant information. Not only is this data used by users to confirm what they’re buying but is also used by internal teams to enable assets on the platform. We make sure that Coinbase is always aware of every asset that is available, even new cryptocurrencies that are being launched every day.
