Liberata

Liberata is a Minnehack 2023 Project designed to increase civic engagement by using a google chrome extension paired with GPT-3's powerful text parsing capabilities to help users identify titles of resources that can be found at their nearest public library and provide them with the capability to receive or put them on hold. Liberata works by scanning the user's current webpage and highlighting the names of texts, movies, art, etc that can be found at a public library closest to them. On clicking this highlight the nearest libraries to the user containing those materials would be displayed and users would be able to place a hold. The hope of this application is that it would encourage people to better utilize public civic utilities provided to them. You can look at our Presentation or our Video.
